Task 1
1. If a high school is planning to organize an after-school activity for its students, what kind of activity would you recommend and why?
Of course, it’s very important. First of all, you only have seconds to make a good impression. We meet thousands of people in our lives and most meetings are brief and superficial, so not everyone is as patient as your parents. A decent haircut, clean face and good manners will be noticed and have a significant effect on your life. Secondly, as the writer of <the game of throne> puts it, courtesies are women’s best weapons. Even if you have done something wrong, if you appear gracious and grateful, much will be forgiven, just like Sansa in the TV series, although her father and brother are regarded as traitors, she never forget her manners and is spared by her enemies. So having good manners is important, and in some cases it can help you enormously.
2. Describe a day that you enjoyed the most or was the most special to you. Include reasons and details to support your response.
Well, the most important day for me is the college graduating ceremony last summer because that's the last day I spent at school and after that, I would say goodbye to all my student life. And I still remember that in this ceremony, a lot of professors and students gave speeches and we received the diplomas individually and after that we went out and took pictures with classmates and professors around the campus. And that is seriously the last day I remember i spent at school and after that I would be on a new page and i felt really excited about it.
3.How do you improve the education system of your country?
Personally, quite a few measures could be taken to improve our education system. Firstly, everybody in China should attach less importance to the results of exams. Students from primary school, even from kindergarten suffer a lot from it. They have to spend extra time studying in order to get a higher score. It is a shame for them not to have any time to enjoy the only childhood they have. Besides, people could be educated in different ways. People are born differently. They are interested in different things. We should encourage them to chase their dreams instead of forcing them to do anything they dislike, or even hate. Furthermore, we could encourage them to be compassionate and independent.
4. Talk about an object, tool, or piece of equipment that you depend on in your daily life. Explain how it makes your life easier.
I depend on my Smartphone in my daily life and it has made my life a lot easier because all the information and apps I need for work and social life are in my Smartphone. For example, I don’t use an alarm clock in the morning because there’s an app for that in my phone. Once I leave my apartment, I use the GPS in my phone to navigate the route with the least traffic to my office. If I’m stuck in the traffic，I can start checking for important emails from clients or colleagues in my car or even make some phone calls to get some problems solved before I，m actually in the office. After work, I use instant messengers on my phone to connect with friends. Without my Smartphone, everything in life would be time consuming and complicated.
5.If a high school is planning to organize an after-school activity for its students, what kind of activity would you recommend and why?
To be honest, I can’t imagine my life without my cellphone. If I was forbidden to use the cellphone for a month, my life would be very painful and miserable. The main reason is that it’s an essential way for me to contact my families and friends. With a cellphone, I’m able to make phone calls and text others. Second, my cellphone has been the main source of happiness in my life now. When I feel exhausted and need to take a break from work or study, I often entertain myself with the cellphone. I can listen to music, watch amusing videos and play games when I feel bored and need to find a way to kill my time. If I was not allowed to use the cellphone, I would feel empty and my life would be messy.
